Flixster - Showtimes + Tickets App Reviews

I really like this app. Its very convenient and tells me when movie are coming out, how people and critics like them, and where you can buy tickets. I really like writing reviews on the movies I see, but I would like it if you were able to like or comment on other peoples reviews like how Yelp does it. Also, I do experience glitches occasionally. Even with that in mind, I still frequently use this app and really enjoy it.

The ads now run full screen and prevent you from obtaining showtimes. Even worse, the ads are buggy and dont push you back to the main options once theyre finished.

Im browsing the box office tab and every time I go it suddenly a fullscreen trailer for the movie "gifted" takes up my screen. There is no way to skip the ad or even close the trailer ad window. Super, super lame. Back to IMDB.

Used to love this app but in latest update started showing inapp ads and generally i am ok with it but they just stay there and force u to open fandango app.. horrible way of marketing .. at least they should either automatically go away and return to app or have a button after ad finishes to continue in the app.

I used to browse the recently released movies and it was great to see ratings, what services were streaming that film and more. Now as soon as you tap the movie to get more information you get ads that cant be dismissed and often loop several times - its ridiculous and makes the app useless. Ill check in in a few weeks to see if they decide to fix this in a new release otherwise, Im deleting the Flixster app and my account.

Fandango you have ruined this app from what it use to be. The core functionality is still there so its worth using but pop ups and now un-skipable video ads put your users experience last. All youve done since buying it is add different types of ads.

Ad covers entire screen and stays there. Never gets back to the movies/theaters page. Ever. Just stuck in endless promo for a movie. ZERO STARS !

Used to love this app. Deleted it once ads for movie trailers started popping up that you could not close, with the only button available to press saying "BUY TICKETS" obnoxiously. I want to check movie times, not be forced to watch a two minute trailer. I dont know who thought holding users hostage to pop ups was a good idea. Its not. If anything, being forced to watch a trailer makes me less likely to want to see the movie advertised. I dont want to see a movie that annoys me. I did use Flixster often to buy tickets. However, I wish good apps (Flixster used to be a five star) would care about my experience, and not try to hold me captive to make an extra buck.

Uninstalled after the stupid ad

Really good for current mainstream movies, just lacks some if the indies and small movies.

The best App I have ever known

The app itself isnt bad for finding movies, reading reviews and getting directed to sites for purchasing tickets. But fix the location button. The button reads leave enabled to always show the closest theaters. The reality is it shows where you last were. If you want to see where youre at now, turn it off, then back on again. So essentially a useless button. Fix the glitch Flixster.

My go to app for movies. Very easy to use.

Find the app pretty good. Wish you could give distance radius for theaters by movie title.

I used to really like this app, but now its a crap-shoot if the theaters in my rural area show up or not. The app becomes useless if I cant see my local theaters. Ive made them Favorites, but still is hit and miss if they show. This is new in the last 6 months or so. **update 4/17 this is still happening. Having my local theaters show is hit or miss, mostly miss.

Easy to use, with a nice user interface. Its laid out nicely, making it easy to find local showtimes, read reviews and watch the movie trailer. Its my go-to app whenever I head to the movie theater. Thank you Flixster!

This is a life saver!

I have to manually put in the zip code or city to see whats playing around me. This app has become useless. ?
