Flixster - Showtimes + Tickets App Reviews

This app used to be great but unfortunately the ads are so obnoxious that it is not even useable. I tried to search for a "paid" version to see if I could buy one without the ads but they dont seem to offer it anymore. No reason to use this app if you spend 4 out of every 5 mins watching an ad.

Loved this app right up to the recent update where now there are full page ads that you cannot leave forcing restart. Fix this major issue and ill change the rating. I understand the needs for ads, but this is a royal pain

Does movies better than any other app.

App forces you to watch ads, avoid. There is literally no way to exit it.

Overwhelmed with visual quirks. Menus randomly appear in the middle of the screen, clock and battery charge level randomly pops to the left side, and movie lists will randomly highlight some movies in blue. Ive loved this app for years, and still do, but this is definitely the most glitchy version Ive seen. Update: App breaking bug: advertisements. Once a video advertisement appears, you cannot cancel or exit it. Even if you watch it through to completion, your only presented option is to rewatch it. You must exit the app and cancel the program from your phone, then it will work once the app restarts until the next add appears.

A great movie app, provides everything i need- tickets, reviews, and movie times, everything i need! Ive had the app for years and i always depend on it

I love how easy the app is to use, very useful for finding movie times and theaters and I like seeing the trailers.

As of this most recent update, the unskippable ads are also not dismissible, therefore if an ad pops up for me, I have to kill the app to exit the ad. I will not be revisiting this app upon further updates, I am deleting the app moving on.

What is with the ads that come up and play an entire trailer without letting you dismiss them? Then it stays there with the only button available to replay the trailer you didnt want to see in the first place so you have to close out and restart the app? Rotten.

It didnt used to be like this, but in the past week Ive noticed that ads start to run in the app and you literally cannot click out of them. Even when the add is done! Its so ridiculous! I literally have to close and re-open the app and hope another ad doesnt pop-up. Im disappointed that this app is so ad-friendly now, it was my go-to for everything movies.

This was my go to app for movies and TV, but it is now ruined! You cant get past the ads even if you were willing to watch one full add.

It was once a great app to find your movies that are playing and now its covered in ads. You cant use the app without being exposed to annoying pop ups. Great job guys. Not to mention the exit button for ads are hidden.

Forcing the advertisement which makes is app unusable.

Hopefully temporary glitch, because I normally love this app. I couldnt find a feedback button so I have to submit this rating to submit glitch. Previews are not showing close button on iPhones. After a review finishes, a refresh or restart button appears where close button normally appears. Will delete this app if not a glitch. Cant keep closing app to remove forced preview.

Overall I find this app very useful... but recently its been overrun with ads that you cant close out. You end up having to restart the app in order to use it. Honestly makes me not want to use it anymore.

Used to love this app to see whats in theaters, view trailers and get reviews. Now I can even get to see movie times without a full page take over with no way to get out of the advertisement. Im either forced to go to the Fandango app to buy tickets or replay the trailer I waited to finish just to see a repeat button and no close button. Find another app if you can, something that doesnt have this kind of aggressive marketing. Seems like they are trying to boost their click numbers by not giving you any other choice. Thoroughly disappointed.

I used to love this app, but recently theyve introduced new, full screen ads that force you to watch a stupid preview or animation. When the ad is done, theres literally no way to get back to the app. None. The only way to get back to Flixster is to remove the app from memory and reopen it, hoping a new ad doesnt pop up. Im deleting this useless app right now.

I finally broke down and deleted this app today. Ive used it for years, but the pop up trailers that cant be closed were driving me crazy.
